Monday's Message of Hope

The Times Are Changing!

Hello, dear friend

The times, they are a’changing, no doubt about that. With all the chaos surrounding us, it’s certainly easy to blame the evil one, and no doubt our archenemy does all he can to hinder God’s plan. But we really need to remember a passage from Daniel:

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His.
And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.
He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” (Daniel 2:20-22, NKJV)

Here, the prophet declares that God changes the times and seasons. Why would the Lord of heaven and earth alter our times? Let’s look at those verses again to find some answers:

  • To remove kings
  • To raise up kings
  • To give wisdom to wise people
  • To give knowledge to people with understanding
  • To reveal deep and secret things

Apparently, God has very specific reasons for adjusting times and seasons, and they always take place to accomplish his plans and purposes. Additional scriptures show us when God changed the time:

  • To win the war (Joshua 10)
  • To begin ministry (John 2)
  • To shorten the days for the sake of the elect (Matthew 24)

With time a valuable commodity, I am so glad I can trust the Lord of the universe to change times and seasons to accomplish his purposes in my life. Aren’t you?
