Monday's Message of Hope

Acknowledging God!

Hello, dear friend

My, my, my! What an entrance for the new year! As I pondered this week’s message of hope, a well-known verse came to mind:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5–6, NKJV)

We’re given three directives in this passage:

  • Trust in the Lord with all our hearts
  • Lean not on our own understanding
  • Acknowledge God in all our ways

For the most part, we do trust the Lord, and we usually know better than to lean on our own understanding. But how do we acknowledge him? Our 21st century grasp of acknowledge is a more or less cursory awareness of someone—for instance, nodding hello to a stranger in the room. However, that doesn’t even come close to the Hebrew meaning, which implies a deep, intimate knowledge of another person.

With this insight, let’s paraphrase verse 6:

In all your ways develop a deep intimate knowledge of God, and He shall direct your paths.

The only way to achieve that level of knowledge is to spend quality time with our wonderful Abba Father through prayer, worship, and the Word. What a wonderful opportunity we have! I hope you join me this week in truly acknowledging God and watching Him direct our paths.

Our church does a media fast in January for a week so we can do exactly that. I've been looking at my journals from years ago& seeing how God has changed my perspective because of the intimacy we've had. But also seeing where I was closer to him in certain areas back then

He absolutely directs our ways as we relinquish our hearts desires and pains into his loving arms. Then we listen for His voice as we reach out our arms to others who may need to hear a voice bringing hope and pray our voice of hope may help!
