Hello, my dear friend!

It’s time to bring Psalm 68:19 to a close with Selah! Shall we?

Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah (Psalm 68:19, NKJV)

While the vast majority of words used in the Bible have fairly definitive Hebrew and/or Greek meanings, “selah” isn’t one of them. Used seventy-three times by the psalmists, Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible lists seven suggested meanings from various scholars. I find two of them quite appropriate this week—to repeat and to meditate on.

So let’s Selah one last time on the truths we’ve discovered in this verse.

1. We receive daily benefits from God. Not every other week. Not annually. Not once in ten years. Every single day. Real, tangible benefits.
2. The Lord pours these benefits out to such a degree that they actually create a burden for us to carry. So much of one that we are compelled to share them with others.
3. All of this happens through the God of our salvation—the God of our victory, prosperity, deliverance, saving health, salvation, and more.

What an incredible verse tucked away in the middle of Psalm 68.

As we go about our Monday, let’s repeat this verse and meditate on it until it’s written on the tablet of our heart. Selah!
