Monday's Message of Hope

Hello, dear friend
As I prayed about this week’s message, my eyes fell on John 4:4, But He needed to go through Samaria. We find this verse in the beginning of John’s story of the woman at the well, one most of us know. To provide a bit of context and a very tiny nutshell, the Samaritans believed they were the true descendants of Israel, while the Jews believed the Samaritans had defiled their race through intermarriage. Consequently, bad blood had existed for centuries between the two groups.
Yet, Jesus needed to go through this land. Why? Because God is in the business of reconciliation. He wanted the Samaritans to return to him, and he sent his son to this despised and rejected woman to hear the truth. When she finally realized who sat at the well, she was never the same. Then she made sure every person in the city knew who spoke the truth—the God/Man who was and is the truth. And eventually, they received him.
While books and messages have discussed the concept of reconciliation, God made it a living reality. So much so, that Paul, inspired by Holy Spirit, included it in letters to four different churches—Rome, Corinth, Ephesus, and Colosse. In Romans, we read that God sent Jesus to reconcile every single person to himself. Then, in 2 Corinthians we discover he gave us the ministry of reconciliation, through Holy Spirit, to bring it to a lost and dying world—nations, tribes, and tongues.
Which brings us to us. Obviously, we have been reconciled to God through Christ as soon as we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. However, I know in my own life I have areas that are not really reconciled to God. For instance, I still struggle with healing because of the prayers I prayed and did not see healing. I know the stripes Jesus took were for my healing. No doubt about that. But when I don’t see if manifest after months, even years of praying, I struggle to be reconciled in healing. For someone else it might be provision because of all the lack he/she has experienced. An abused person might struggle with reconciliation regarding God’s promises of protection.
Reconciliation. A gift, a promise, a reality. One I plan on pressing into this week. I hope you join me.
