Monday's Message of Hope

Hello, dear friend
As I’m sitting in front of my computer, I’m weeping, and I can’t seem to stop. Today is Father’s Day, a day to honor our fathers. And I am overwhelmed with too many emotions to enumerate.
Who else would choose me, even when I didn’t choose him?
Who else would have a perfect plan for my life, even when I want my own way?
Who else would give me gifts designed for me, even when I ignore them?
Who else would forgive me, even when I sin—over and over and over again?
Who else would want me, even when I rejected him repeatedly?
Who else would love me unconditionally, even when I deliberately turn away?
Only a Father who chose me from before the foundations of the world were established.
Only a Father who only has thoughts of good towards me.
Only a Father who designed gifts and callings specifically with me in mind.
Only a Father who forgives my sins before I commit them.
Only a Father who accepted me into his beloved family before I knew him.
Only a Father who sent his only son to die for me.
And so I weep. Because I can’t do anything else.
While we celebrate and honor our fathers who loved us imperfectly, let’s never forget our heavenly Father who loved us with his perfect, pure, and holy love.
