Monday's Message of Hope

Hello, dear friend
As we continue to explore how to live this Christian life, let’s take one last look at Romans 1:17
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17, NKJV)
Paul’s clear focus to his Roman brethren is faith. The Greek definition for faith specifically means reliance upon Christ for salvation. Again, “it” refers to the gospel of Christ. Thus, the more we understand the good news of Jesus, the better we can take the cover off the righteousness of God and rely on Christ for our salvation. Which is a very good thing, because nothing we can do—past, present, or future—can save us.
Since the apostle quoted Habakkuk 2:4 in this epistle, the original Hebrew provides some interesting counterparts to the Greek meaning: firmness, security, stability, faithfulness, truth. In other words, we live with a determination, resolve, immovability, permanence on Almighty God. What a stark contrast to the precarious foundations of the world’s push to command allegiance to the perpetually offended crowd. Definitely not an example of how to walk by faith!
While today’s culture tries to give us lots of options in how to live my life, I don’t need a nanosecond to decide. I choose to live by faith—absolute reliance upon Christ for my salvation with a determined immovable security found in him. Join me in for an incredible, powerful testament of what faith can do and watch God move on our behalf together.
