The Beauty of Repentance!

Hello, dear friend

As I pondered this week’s message, my mind went again to last week’s verse, so I sense God has more for us from Acts 3:19:

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord . . .

In Christian circles, we flippantly toss words around without grasping their true meanings. One we hear constantly today is repent. What does it really mean? Does it even matter? To answer the first question, repent does not mean to be sorry for our sins, although that’s important. It does not mean to feel guilty, although conviction is necessary for repentance. In the Greek, repent literally means to change the way someone thinks. As for the second question it’s a resounding yes!

Without changing the way we think, we have the same thoughts, we act the same way, we say the same things. Nothing changes, even when we clearly need change. Yet, godly repentance brings about a transformation, affecting every aspect of our lives. Just this past week, I found myself changing my thinking regarding a situation that has impacted my life for years. In other words, I repented, my sin is now blotted out, and I am in the process of experiencing times of refreshing. What a beautiful gift from God!

I need to change the way I think about every bad choice I made growing up and as an adult. Thank you, God, for forgiveness. Thank you that nothing we have ever done and learned from cannot be used to help someone else. Help me to frolic in my future and help others rejoice!

How many times I have come to my own conclusion with out asking God what He thinks.But then God is God. HE IS! He let's me do my own thinking. Then I repent,allow GOD to do my thinking! Yes times of refreshing clears my mind and heart' Thank u so much Penelope! Thot provoking! Bless your week!!!
