Hello, my dear friend!

Today is the start of a new definition of wait: adhere to; long, tarry, wait. A scripture in Psalm 33 paints a beautiful picture of the relationship between God and His sons and daughters:

Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name.
Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, just as we hope in You. (Psalm 33:20–22, NKJV)

It’s easy to cling to people, jobs, money, etc. Yet, this passage describes the significance of holding fast to not just any god, but the Lord God. He helps and protects us. His name is trustworthy. His mercy flows like a river over us.

We live in desperate times, and we desperately need to adhere to and cling to the Lord. We have no one else who knows the beginning from the end, who can create beauty out of chaos, who can save a nation in a day. This is why we wait for the Lord. What a holy privilege!

  • Is there an area in your life where you’ve seen Him move on your behalf because you have waited on Him?
