Monday's Message of Hope

Hello, my dear friend!
As I pondered this week’s message, I sensed the Lord shifting directions a bit. Instead of another message, I felt stirred to write a prayer regarding our season of waiting. While we still have much to learn and discern from God’s word about the word “wait,” let’s take a pause, a “selah” if you will and go before His holy throne:
Father God,
You are such a good, good father. We are so grateful for the open door we have to your mercy seat through the blood of Jesus. Lord, in these desperate times, it’s easy to lose sight of the benefits of waiting for you, spending time with you, leaning on you. Yet, rushing headlong, making rash decisions, going our own way—none of it brings us the incredible peace and the deep satisfaction of spending time with you.
Today, while we wait, we ask you, Jesus, our Holy Redeemer, to draw us close to you. So close that we hear your heart beat. So close that we smell the fragrance of your sacrifice. So close that we taste your goodness. So close that we see the love in your eyes. So close that we feel the joy of your victory.
In this waiting, Lord, renew, refresh, refine us. Let waves of your glory roll over us, strengthening our spirits, souls, and bodies to be living sacrifices for you, equipping us to be your hands and feet to a lost and dying world. To God be the glory! In Jesus’s name, amen and amen.
