Monday's Message of Hope

Unashamed!
9/21/2020 1:45:00 AM by: Penelope Kaye

Hello, my dear friend!

We have another benefit that comes to us as we bind together by twisting; gather together; patiently wait. Let’s see what’s in Psalm 25:3a:

Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed . . .

Let’s “selah” this verse again.

Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed . . .

Think on this attribute from waiting on the Lord—no shame! No embarrassment. No humiliation. No dishonor. NO SHAME.

If you’re like me, you have suffered shame from any number of sources and/or situations, including family, jobs, school, etc. And there really aren’t enough words to describe how this weapon diminishes and dehumanizes the very essence of who we are. Yet, the psalmist declares that the Lord will not allow shame to come on those of us who wait for him in unity. What an indescribable gift from our most holy God!

In your time of practicing the art of waiting this week, ask the Lord to pinpoint any areas of shame still lingering in your soul. Then let Him remove all traces of it, healing and restoring your core identity in Him, a beautiful portrait of His loving kindness.

Below are some questions to reflect and/or journal. Feel free to share your thoughts—I would love to hear from you.

  • In your struggles with shame, how have you felt diminished?
  • What emotions come to the surface at the thought of no shame?
  • How will this knowledge impact your witness?

Blessings in your waiting this week!

Hi, Diana. Our learned early childhood behaviors can keep us from fully embracing God's mercies. I'm glad you're getting free. Thank you for sharing. Blessings, Penelope Kaye

I struggle with speaking up boldly when others disagree as I fear they will put me to shame. In texting with a liberal sister yesterday & today God enabled me to speak up boldly, in love, & stand for what I believe in. I won't say it was a relief as I am now struggling to keep my peace. He is fai

I've been set free from shame but am in many ways still learning to live without it. God needs me to assume my true identity & authority so I can continue in His ministry. 1 or 2 major strongholds needs to come down. My health/weight & self-body image. I wrote devotional on this years ago.
