Monday's Message of Hope

Hello, dear friend
As I sat down to write this week’s message, I realized how much I need the love of my Father. Now I know that God the Father loves me. If I had any doubts, John 3:16 put it to rest. I’ve heard enough sermons over the years to settle the issue forever. God loves me; he loves you. No doubts.
With that knowledge secure, I can get into a daily routine and ignore God. I know that sounds rather callous and prideful, but it’s true. As much as I want to stay focused on the Lord and his kingdom and righteousness and all things spiritual, I have a tendency to deal with the life that’s right in front of me.
However, the understanding of how much I need his unconditional, indescribable love hit me, overwhelming my soul. I’ve been pondering this for a while now, and honestly, I don’t know how to process it. Do I laugh? Do I cry? Get on my face? Worship and dance? I don’t seem to have an answer.
But the need is real. And for a number of reasons. None of which are important right now. I only know I want to somehow grab hold of his love, wrap my arms around it, and never let go. I want it to be tangible. Not some deep, spiritual belief. Not tonight. I want—I need—the reality of his love to run after and overtake my entire being. And at the end of the day, when it’s all said and done, I want my Father God to do it again. And again. And again.
Because of my very real need, I’m going to seek my Father God this week, and let him overwhelm me with his unconditional, indescribable love. And then I’m going to share it with others. I hope you join me.
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! (1 John 3:1a, NKJV)
